Access transcripts

From Transcripts Tab

  1. Click the Transcripts tab in the left side navigation.
  2. Here you’ll see all of the interviews that have been synthesized in your project.
  3. Open the transcript you want to work with by clicking on the thumbnail.

From Themes & Keywords

  1. Click Themes & Keywords tab on the left side navigation.
  2. Select a theme- associated transcripts will populate on the right side navigation.
  3. The number next to the speakerphone icon indicates the frequency with which this theme was mentioned in the transcript.
  4. Click into any transcript to view key moments associated with any theme in the left side navigation. Toggle between themes by clicking them.

Text of interest

  1. During synthesis, CoNote elevates important text for you. These are represented by highlighted text in the transcript.
  2. CoNote provides sentiment analysis for text it identifies during synthesis- represented by emojis next to the text.
  3. Click any text of interest to view more information. The right side navigation will populate with a quote card, time stamp, sentiment analysis, as well as the associated themes and keywords.
  4. Bookmark text of interest using the bookmark icon in the top right corner of the right side navigation bar.

Create custom text of interest

  1. CoNote is built to come alongside the human researcher. Highlight your own text of interest:
  2. Click the transcripts tab in the left side navigation. You can also work with a transcript from the Themes & Keywords page.
  3. From a transcript, click a word and drag your mouse to highlight new text.
  4. A prompt will pop up- to highlight this part of the conversation, select add selected text.
  5. CoNote will differentiate user highlighted text from content elevated by the engine and identify the account associated with custom text of interest.
  6. CoNote will queue file playback for the moment associated with new highlighted text.
  7. Custom text of interest can be bookmarked using the bookmark icon in the top right hand corner of the quote card in the right side navigation.

Remove custom text of interest

Custom text of interest will appear with a paragraph and pencil icon.

  1. To remove user highlighted text, click the pencil icon, and click remove.

Rename & filter speakers

Rename speaker

  1. Speakers are identified on the left side of each transcript- CoNote will automatically label these with numbers.
  2. Use the pencil icon next to the speaker number.
  3. Hit the check mark when you have a name that works for you.
  4. CoNote will update all associated text with the new label.
  5. Change this anytime by visiting the transcript and using the pencil icon next to the speaker number to update as needed.

Filter speakers

  1. Focus transcripts using the filter functionality. This can be found at the top of the transcript details page, indicated by a funnel icon.
  2. Select filter by speaker and choose the labels for the speaker(s) whose thoughts you want to see reflected in the transcript below.
  3. The transcript will narrow to reflect relevant content.
  4. Clear this filter anytime by clicking clear filter in the drop down menu from the funnel icon.

Across Transcripts

  1. From the transcripts page, you can filter your data using the filter icon above your list of files.
  2. Here you will see a dropdown with all of the themes CoNote identified in your work. Each one can act as a filter by clicking on the word(s) for which you’d like to see associated data.
  3. Clear filter by hitting clear filter at the top of the drop down, or by unselecting a highlighted word in the dropdown menu.

Within Transcripts

  1. Access transcript details by selecting files in the transcripts tab.
  2. Click the funnel icons at the top of the transcript file to filter by theme or speaker.
  3. Here you will see a dropdown with all of the themes and speakers identified by CoNote.
  4. Select specific theme(s) or speaker(s) to view data associated with those specific labels.
  5. Clear filter by hitting clear filter at the top of the drop down, or by unselecting a highlighted word in the dropdown menu.

View video & audio clips

  1. CoNote queues up the moment associated with text of interest. Click any highlighted text in your transcript to open details in the right side navigation pane.
  2. Watch the playback in the video box in the right side navigation by hitting the play icon.
  3. Enter full screen using the expand icon in the top right corner of the video play box.

Note that audio files will play audio and show an icon in place of video.

Export transcripts

  1. Click the Export Transcript button in the upper right corner.
  2. CoNote supports .doxc and .rtf file downloads.
  3. Choose your preferred file type.
  4. View the transcript in your local files.
